Tehran (Lamaane.net) - The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced Sunday that its Aerospace Force destroyed a U.S.-made THAAD radar installation linked to Israel's missile defense network in Al Ruwais, United Arab Emirates, and struck a U.S. fuel-support vessel operating approximately 700 kilometers off Iran's Chabahar coast, describing both operations as precise and decisive.
In an official statement, the IRGC said a precision-guided missile eliminated the radar system, which it characterized as part of the "Zionist regime’s integrated missile shield.”
The Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system, developed by the United States Army, has been deployed across parts of the Gulf in coordination with regional partners to counter ballistic missile threats.
The IRGC further stated that drones and anti-ship missile systems targeted a U.S. fleet fuel-support vessel in the Arabian Sea, rendering it non-operational. Iranian officials emphasized that advanced anti-ship missile units remain actively tracking U.S. naval assets in the region.
Diplomatic messaging intensified in New York, where the Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations declared that efforts to force Iran into submission would fail, framing the confrontation as a strategic contest of resolve rather than weaponry alone.
Separately, the Oman Maritime Security Center reported that the oil tanker SKYLIGHT, flying the flag of Palau, was struck five nautical miles north of Khasab port in Musandam Governorate. All 20 crew members—15 Indian nationals and five Iranian nationals—were evacuated. Four sustained varying injuries and were transferred for medical treatment. Rescue operations were conducted in coordination with the Royal Navy of Oman and national security authorities.
The overlapping military announcements and maritime security incident underscore mounting volatility along critical Gulf shipping lanes, heightening strategic risk in one of the world’s most sensitive energy corridors.
