Tehran (Lamaane.net) - The governments of United States and Israel launched coordinated air and naval strikes across Iran early Saturday, with multiple explosions reported in central Tehran near key government and military facilities, according to Iranian and international sources.
Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported that several projectiles struck districts close to the Pasteur area, a high-security zone that houses the presidential complex and the office of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The state broadcaster Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting said air defenses were activated shortly before dawn, while residents described hearing sustained blasts across parts of the capital.

An Iranian official, speaking to Agence France-Presse, confirmed that Khamenei had been relocated to a secure site outside Tehran as a precaution. President Masoud Pezeshkian was not harmed, according to statements carried by state media.

U.S. defense officials, quoted by Bloomberg, said the strikes were aimed at military infrastructure and command facilities. A Pentagon official told CBS News that the operation involved aircraft deployed from regional bases along with naval assets positioned in nearby waters. Israeli security correspondents, citing senior defense sources, described the action as a coordinated effort between Washington and Tel Aviv.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry condemned the operation as a violation of its sovereignty and warned of retaliatory measures. Regional security analysts note that the reported proximity of the strikes to senior leadership compounds marks a significant escalation, potentially reshaping the strategic balance and increasing the risk of wider confrontation.
